Sunspots' Art Glass Ikebana Vases

Art Glass Ikebana Vases
A Japanese tradition from the 14th Century, Ikebana flower arranging uses a variety of plant materials to create a sculptural design. Simple, yet with endless possibilities, the pin frog (“Kenzan”) inside the vase allows for the positioning of stems for the most dramatic or complimentary effect. A central motif of 3-5 flower stems is a good starting point. The flowers may stand alone, or another element with a striking texture, shape, or color can be added. A tall branch from a tree, a large leaf or spray of leaves from an ornamental plant, or even a feather can give a beautiful result. Dried winter plants or single tree branches also make interesting ikebana. With Ikebana, less is more. Let the inspiration begin!

Sunspots' Art Glass Ikebana vases are individually handmade in our hot glass studio in Staunton, Virginia. Each item is one-of-a-kind, so photos are general representations of the shape and color.
